It’s Our 9th Anniversary!

We’ve accomplished so much since 2011, but we truly couldn’t have done it without the help and support of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers.With the start of our Back to School program in 2012, we’ve helped send 550 children back to school by providing them with the school supplies they need to excel. Additionally, 150 children have been supported through our sponsorship program. These children receive school supplies, basic necessities such as food, and a health care card, which provides the child with an opportunity for medical services.

In these past 9 years, we’ve also donated 500 healthcare cards, allowing families and individuals access to regular checkups and affordable healthcare.

Wings of Hope for Africa has also sponsored the development of two community gardens. In 2016, we started the Kivumu community garden which has since supported 350 families. Moreover, 240 families have been supported since the development of our Buterere community garden in 2017. These community gardens allow these families to sustain themselves and become self-sufficient. Our Emergency Relief program has supported 2139 families. Families in personal distress or those who were victims of physical disasters were provided with basic goods such as shelter, clothing, food, and clean water. $100,000 CAD has been invested into our own Hope for Kids Canada program. These funds have been donated to other charities that share similar goals and into our gift card and food hamper programs. This program has also provided financial support to low-income families and single parents of school-aged children in Calgary, Alberta. Without the help of you: our donors, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers, we would not have been able to carry out these various initiatives. We at Wings of Hope for Africa want to express our gratitude to our talented and dedicated volunteers who have worked hard to grow our charity for 9 years.
