Buterere Third Harvest

It’s Harvest Time! Our third rice harvest at the Buterere Community Garden is complete. On May 21st, our sponsored families harvested 2.8 tonnes of rice. 60% of crops will be sold, 20% will be kept by the families for their own use, and 20% of the seeds will be retained for the next families, carrying out our model in sustainability and teamwork.

The garden has made an enormous difference in the lives of our participants, and the harvest will enable them to eat regular meals and have enough left over to supply a small business. Thank you so much to our sponsors who made this possible!
