Buterere Community Garden: 4th Harvest

It’s our 4th rice harvest at the Buterere Community Garden. On April 27th, 2020, our 35 sponsored families harvested 3 tonnes of rice. 60% of crops will be sold, the families will keep 20% for their own use, and 20% of the seeds will be retained for the next families, carrying out our model in sustainability and teamwork. The garden has made an enormous difference in the lives of our participants, and the harvest will enable them to eat regular meals and have enough left over to supply a small business, which is extraordinarily helpful especially in these hard times.
