Buterere Community Garden Phase 2

The Buterere Community Garden supports 70 families per year in two growing phases. We began the 2nd phase of rice planting in December 2017. This is an ongoing and sustainable program made possible by our generous sponsors. Our self-sufficiency model is designed so that the participants will pass training and a portion of the crop seeds on to the next cycle of families. The garden has made an enormous difference in the lives of our our participants

the harvest will enable them to eat regular meals, and enough food will be left over to supply a small business .this project is helping vulnerable families have food security and further generates income for them.

We’re a registered charity dedicated to family welfare, empowering communities & developing self-sufficiency programs to end poverty in Burundi and Rwanda, East Africa, and in Calgary, Canada.
