2nd Phase Harvest: Buterere Community
It’s our second harvest at our Buterere Community Garden, despite the devastating heavy rain which hit Buterere on April 28th, 2018. Our sponsored families were able to harvest 2.5 tonnes of rice. 60% of the crops will be sold, 20% will be kept by the families for their own use, and 20% of the seeds from the crops will be retained for the next cycle of families. The garden has made an enormous difference in the lives of our participants.
harvest will enable them to eat regular meals and have enough left over to supply a small business, which is extraordinarily helpful especially in these hard times. Thank you to our amazing sponsor who made this possible! Join us and support our future self-sufficiency program.
