Gift Cards Donation


We are helping to ease the financial burden that many families are facing in the midst of rising food housing costs. In January 2022,We donated 100 grocery gift cards to families in need within various neighbourhoods in Calgary. We give a big thank-you to Community Food Centers Canada for its generous donation and joining forces with us in combating poverty. With its support, we are helping to change lives for the better!

November 2020 Food Delivery


On November 19th 2020, we delivered fresh eggs to more than 60 families. We continue our covid-19 relief efforts and support families that are impacted by this pandemic.

October 2020 Covid-19 Relief Efforts | Food Deliveries


This pandemic has created unparalleled food insecurity for various individuals and families in our beautiful city of Calgary. Many communities are unable to afford enough food or are without the means to provide more. With the generosity of individuals like you, we were able to provide some of these families with food donated to us by our partner, Second Harvest Food Rescue, on October 29th.

July 2020 Covid-19 Relief Efforts | Gift Cards Donation


The COVID-19 continues to be a global pandemic that has left tens of thousands of Calgarians unemployed and struggling to provide put food on the table. We are continuing with our COVID-19 relief efforts by providing $10,000 worth of gift cards for Calgarians in need each month. We are so honoured to have been featured on Global News as part of their Calgary Cares segment! Calgary Cares: Calgary charity sees huge spike in need, spending $10K per month to help. By Lauren Pullen Global News: A Calgary-based charity has seen firsthand how hard COVID-19 has hit many people in the city. The number of families Wings of Hope for Africa is helping has more than doubled due to the pandemic. Volunteers with the charity have been busy packing up and dropping off food hampers and grocery gift cards to families who need them most.

Calgary Food Drive May 2020


On May 17, 2020, we made a difference in the lives of 36 families in financial trouble. We gave them groceries or gift cards, depending on what better served them. Making sure these families had the right supplies was important to us. We were able to hand out an abundance of goods: eight kilograms of rice; 4.5 kg of potatoes; five kg of frozen chicken legs; laundry soap, cookies, three litres of oil; onions; baked beans; noodles; orange juice; macaroni; tomato sauce; sugar; hot chocolate; oatmeal; and diapers were also given for those with babies.

Calgary and COVID-19


Wings of Hope for Africa has a deep heart for Calgarians who are suffering through the impacts of COVID-19. We love our hometown and want to show we care in a demonstrative way. We have already given away groceries to families in need: thanks to our sponsors’ generosity, our Hope for Kids Canada program is providing financial support to low-income families and single parents of school-age children in Calgary.

Donation to Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary


Christmas is that time of year when our hearts grow even bigger for those in need. At Wings of Hope for Africa, we wanted to share with those less fortunate in Calgary and, in particular, the children of our great city. On Dec. 20, we donated $10,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary. This worthy cause serves more than 4,500 vulnerable children and youth throughout Calgary every year. Our Christmas gift will go a long way to making these kids feel special throughout the season and well beyond into 2020. It will provide food, clothing and other basic needs to children in need. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary offers so many valuable things like community clubs as well as outreach and prevention of youth homelessness, and we are proud to be able to help them with their mission.

Making a Difference in Calgary


We are giving back in a big way to Calgary again! On June 22, we donated $10,000 to the Calgary branch of the Canadian Red Cross.Our gift will go a long way towards emergency relief by providing food, clothing and other basic needs to families in need here at home. After a dedicated member of the Red Cross told us all that they’re doing in Alberta, we were touched and inspired to help.
