The Wings of Hope for Africa Foundation strives to combat poverty through a range of projects. The RISE centre will help individuals develop skills that can improve their lives. The "Beyond Food Program" is dedicated to empowering newcomers and low-income families in Calgary by connecting them with essential resources to enhance their quality of life and reduce reliance on emergency food hampers. This program provides comprehensive support through:
- Resume & Cover Letter Assistance: Assisting participants in crafting professional resumes and cover letters to enhance their job prospects.
- Job Interview Practices: Offering mock interviews and practical tips to build confidence and improve interview performance.
- Job Fairs & Networking Opportunities: Connecting participants with employers and job opportunities through organized events.
- Employer Connections: Facilitating direct links to potential employers, opening doors to new career paths.
The Senior Support and Wellness Project is dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors in Calgary through targeted initiatives and collaborations with other organizations. This project focuses on:
- Abuse Awareness: Raising awareness about elder abuse and providing resources to support those affected.
- Combating Social Isolation: Addressing social isolation among seniors by fostering intergenerational connections and encouraging active participation in community life.
- Community Engagement: Promoting opportunities for seniors to engage with the community, participate in activities, and build meaningful relationships.
