Back to School

Now in Canada!

In 2023, our Back to School Program in Calgary marked its inception by successfully sending 150 children back to school. This endeavor stems from our proud 12-year history of supporting education for underprivileged children in Burundi and Rwanda.

We are thrilled to extend our mission to serve the community in Calgary, ensuring that every child here has the opportunity to receive a quality education. In collaboration with the Portail de l’Immigrant Association (PIA), we initiated our first campaign by distributing 150 backpacks to children in need, facilitating their return to school.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors—Indigo, Walmart, Superstore, and DHL—for their invaluable support, making it possible for us to positively impact the lives of these children and contribute to their educational journey.

Thank you for being a part of our mission to create a brighter future for these young minds.

Join our 2024 Back to School Campaign!

Help us uplift communities by breaking down barriers. Education is a vital tool in breaking the cycle of poverty.  Since our inception, we have sent 950 children back to school in East Africa through 11 successful Back To School Campaigns. This year we are reaching even higher and further. Our goal is to raise $10,000 before September 2nd 2024 to send 200 children back to school – 100 in Burundi, East Africa, and 100 in Calgary, Canada. You can show your support in a variety of ways: donate online, help spread the word, or bring in new school supplies to our Calgary office for donation! Together, let’s ensure education reaches every child, unlocking a brighter future for all! Find out how you can be a part of the change below.

In Burundi, supporting one student costs only $50, providing them with essential items like school supplies, uniform, backpack, and shoes. Meanwhile, in Calgary, the cost per student ranges from $80 to $200, depending on the grade, which covers school supplies.

New retail school supplies are also appreciated and can be dropped at our office: 152 Skyview Point Green NE, Calgary, Alberta from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday.
